These wonderful villas, both of which are detached, sit, one below the other, on the side of a small hill, just above the beautiful and very natural bay of Tholos in north east Crete. Their fantastic position, (a huge part of their appeal), provides them with the most stunning views of both the spectacular bay of Tholos, which remains completely undeveloped with its one simple taverna that sits alongside its wide pebble beach, and acres of silvery green olives trees. And this is the type of wonderful and little touched scenery you can expect to see throughout this spectacular region.
The villas have been designed to provide two independent accommodations but they are equally perfect for larger parties, extended families, two families or even two couples, who wish to travel together but have independent accommodation, so, in high season, we promote these villas as one unit only.
Villa Georgina is the slightly larger of the two villas sitting on the upper level of the hill. It has a very modern style with a neutral decor and colourful, furnishings which provide a high level of comfort and facilities. There are two bedrooms, both of which offer the option to utilise the beds in each room has singles or doubles. The two bathrooms offer a shower and a bath. The open plan kitchen/dining/living room is wonderfully light and airy with large picture windows that lead directly to the pool terrace. Facilities include a microwave, full cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, juicer, toaster, kettle, DVD/TV and MP3/iPod Dock.
A spacious patio surrounds the pool and is very well-furnished both for relaxing and for outdoor eating. The stone built BBQ sits conveniently alongside the villa.
The very appealing ‘infinity’ style pool (4m x 10m), which includes a ‘swim trainer’, sits at the front of the villa and, like nearly all other areas of the villa, enjoys the outstanding views.
Villa Alexi sits below Villa Georgina, which ensures they both enjoy the same uninterrupted views. Alexi is slightly smaller than Villa Georgina but it similar enjoys two bedrooms, where the beds again are offered as either doubles or twins. The main difference between the two villas is that Villa Alexi has just one bathroom (shower). The open plan kitchen/living area is equipped with a full oven, fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle and again includes large picture windows, which lead to the patio and the hot tub, which sits at the side of the villa enjoying the uninterrupted views.
The villas are situated within easy reach of the village shops of the nearby village of Kavousi, which remains a very traditional local village. Other supplies can be found in the south coast town of Ierapetra, reached in just 20 minutes by car.
With its host of simple villages, striking rural hinterland and beautiful natural beaches this little developed region of eastern Crete offers the visitor the opportunity to discover a very traditional Crete. However, if you want a little more life during your stay, the popular resorts of Agios Nikolaos (20kms) and Elounda (28kms) are both easily accessed from the villas! Although, we think, you might find it hard to drag yourselves away from these lovely villas and their marvellous location!
