Villa Kalisto is a comfortable three bedroom villa built on the side of a small hill just outside the traditional village of Pano Stalos in Western Crete. It is extremely well located for ease of access to the regions long sandy beaches, which begin just at the bottom of the hill, (reached in no more than 5 minutes by car), as well as for ease of access to all practical facilities. The village of Pano Stalos, a pretty and traditional village, can be reached in approximately three minute’s by car from Kalisto, here you can find a simple mini-market, for basic facilities and fresh bread, and three traditional tavernas that offer exceptionally good local cooking at very reasonable prices. A further extensive choice of tavernas, cafes and mini-markets can be found right next to the beach.

Kalisto is one of 8 detached villas, (most privately owned), built on this small hillside, each one positioned on a different level. The interior of Kalisto is designed on two levels and has an open-plan living/dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, a twin bedroom and a shower room all on the ground floor. Upstairs there is one double and one twin bedrooms, each of which has an ensuite bathroom, one with a Jacuzzi bath and the other a shower. The villa is air-conditioned throughout and it has a choice of balconies and patios, on both levels, where you can enjoy panoramic views that sweep across the hillside all the way to the sea.

The pool patio is well equipped with comfortable pool furnishings and there is a stone built barbeque.

In between lazy days by your pool and enjoying the long sandy beach of Stalos you can also discover some of the regions many attractions. The pretty Venetian harbour town of Chania with its vibrant history and atmospheric streets is a fascinating place to visit day or evening and can be reached by car in just 15 minutes. The beautiful Samaria Gorge stretching from the dramatic White Mountains to the sea on the south coast is an exciting temptation for even the laziest visitor! The archaeological sites of Aptera and Polyrenia provide a captivating insight into Crete’s rich heritage and, the more modern day attraction of Limnoupolis Waterpark, (20 minutes drive from the villa) offers a fun day out for all the family! And the beautiful bay of Balos, with its carribean coloured water, reached by boat, should not be missed!

Even if you are amongst those looking for nothing more than pure relaxation, the excellent choice of beaches in western Crete are as good a reason as any to leave your lovely pool behind, just for a few hours!
