Car Hire in Crete

Having spent a lot of time travelling around Crete, we know what road conditions our clients can expect. Most roads nowadays are a very good standard; however, those who choose to stay in the more remote resorts can expect to come across the odd dirt track or uneven road surface. Therefore, when it comes to providing car hire, we aim to ensure that our clients get the best cars available. We co-operate only with smaller and locally operated car hire companies as this has always assured us a high standard of vehicle, fully comprehensive insurance cover, a personal, flexible and friendly service and 24 hour call out in the event of any problems.

All cars come complete with air-conditioning (except group E), unlimited mileage and government tax and, contrary to most other car hire companies, our pre-booked cars come with fully comprehensive insurance that includes damage cover to the windscreen and underneath of the car (unless the car is damaged with intent). The car will be delivered to you with a full tank of petrol and you are required to return it with the same amount. As this has not always been successful in the past our car hire agents now require details of a credit card on collection, to ensure the car is returned with a full tank.

The cars are insured to carry a maximum of five persons with the exception of Group G vehicles which are insured up to nine and all Group E cars which are insured up to four persons. Please note the minimum age for hiring a car is 23 years old and you must have held a full driving licence for at least one year.
Please note Luggage space is extremely limited in jeeps (Group E). You may need to consider upgrading the car to avoid the expense of a taxi to transport your luggage to your accommodation.

Car Hire Delivery and Collection

Where car hire is included in the price of your holiday the car will be delivered to you at the airport on your arrival unless you request otherwise. Whether the car is included or not we offer the flexibility to have the car delivered wherever you choose, without any additional cost.

Car Hire Upgrades

Many of our properties include Group B car hire in the price of the holiday. A Group B is ideal for up to four passengers, if luggage is limited. We advise upgrading the car if you are a party of four with four large suitcases. We also advise upgrading your car if you prefer to have a car with a little more power as the engine size in most Group B cars is limited to 1100 cc. Should you wish to upgrade the car, included in the price of the holiday, the chart below indicates the weekly upgrade cost.
